One little, two little, three little indians...
Feathers, Animals, Patterns and that beautiful swede leather.. I have been doing a few meditations where I have had very vivid visions from the Native Americans. I have been really inspired to do a few pieces that capture the spirit, colour and feeling of these great people. Here's a quick little illustration of myself! I love the colours. I keep thinking also of Peter Pan.. and the princess Tiger Lilly.. I really admire her spirit, she was very graceful yet very stern and composed even in the face of death!

Be the first 5!
While reading kiss the birdie's beautiful blog and 3 sheets blog I came across this neat little idea and thought it would be fun to give it a go... now I will receive a handmade goody and in return the first 5 people who comment {and commit to the below terms} will receive a handmade goody from me! So.....
Here's the deal:
I am entering into the following contract with the first 5 people who comment on this post and then commit to do the same on their blog. Just read below and if you feel up to the task copy the following into your blog and leave me a comment. I am willing to post overseas (I am in the Australia, but remember you must commit on your blog to do the same to others).
1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make. Whatcha get is whatcha get.
2. What I create will be just for you, with love.
3. It’ll be done this year (2009).
4. I will not give you any clue what it’s going to be. It will be something made in the real world and not something cyber. It may be weird or beautiful. Or it may be monstrous and annoying. Heck, I might bake something for you and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that’s for sure!
5. I reserve the right to do something strange.
6. In return, all you need to do is post this text on your blog and make 5 things for the first 5 to respond to your blog post.
7. Send your mailing address - after I contact you.
Welcome to everyone. I will however, make an effort to do something that you like based on what I see on your blog, BUT there are no guarantees.
So that's that!!
Lots of fun!- wanna play?

My friend Mel.
I thought I would pass it on and share it with all of you. x Kas
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others" - Marianne Williamson

Rumpelstiltskin.
Instead, I am packing boxes, bedding, books and bags to move into our new house
Yes. We are moving. Soon! .... Into a friends house while she's gone to Canada for two years after accepting a new job in Toronto. It is very exciting and things are slightly crazy around here!
We are moving to an old cottage house in the Mountains backing onto the most suburb and gorgeous national park with breathtaking views. It will surely be a source of inspiration I can feel it in the air. The little suburb we are moving into was the exact location where the lovable Australian character Blinky Bill was created in the early 20's and 30's by the famous illustrator/author Dorothy Wall. Also please meet our new addition to the family- and my secret obsession ( rabbits~! shhh) The gorgeous cute baby mini lop kitten, Rumpelstiltskin. xx Kas

The giving tree
This book reminded me of this beautiful cartoon I absolutely adored when I was a young, ( I haven't seen in since) finally found it on u tube, written by Walt Disney Its called "Lambert the Sheepish Lion'' I hope you enjoy it!
Illustration Friday - Flawed
Once upon a day, Far far away in a far off land was a strange little town that was flawed, even the towns name was indeed "Flawed Town". In this town the trees grew upside down, the birds swam in the lake and the fish flew in the sky. The houses in Flawed Town had lots of windows but no doors! The cars in the town would also drive upside down! ''Why what a strange little town'' you say, "How could anyone live here?". But to the people of this town, who have three eyes and ten little toes this is their home!
Tell me what can you find in this picture? I have half coloured in the drawing of "Flawed town" above. Just for bit of fun, you can download a PDF of this image, completely FREE! Colour it in any way you wish either on the computer or by hand and email it back to me. I will upload the best entries here...
look forward to what you come back with! x Kas

Alana Monet,
Happy Birthday Alana!
Eleven years ago today I became a sister because you came into the world, into my life, into my arms. You were so cute and little, I was the happiest and the most excited I have ever been! Ever since I was a little girl I longed to have a little sister like you!
When I first looked down at you, I held you in awe. I knew you were special. My passion for art, my joy for you a part of your life always, when I gave you your second name 'Monet'.
I love you! Your are a perfect little sister and a beautiful little girl, you are so kind hearted, generous and gorgeous, life is beautiful with you in it, my sister, my best friend.
I hope your eleventh year is all you imagined it to be!
With hugs and kisses and magical wishes, love always and forever
Kas x
